QUEEN ANNE'S LACE
Besides Iris, I love Queen Anne's Lace. Some people say it is a weed. I say it is
beautiful anyway. Yesterday, I had the
most amazing trip, down to Goreville, IL.
I took a ride with my cousin Sharon Rae navigating. We went to Happy Hollow. Yes, that is a real place, and it is so
beautiful. We drove, down, down, down, around
the bluffs and into the Hollow. Along
the roadside and everywhere there was beautiful Queen Anne’s Lace
blooming. In spite of the drought and
the fields of dying grass, trees already turning, leaves falling, just
the end of June. Still, Queen Anne’s Lace
flourished. When we finally came to the
church, to turn around and retrace our journey, I stopped the van. Sharon Rae got out and picked me some stems
of beautiful Queen Anne’s Lace. (I think
she’s a princess, herself.) So it might
be a weed or it might be a lovely work from the hand of our Lord. You decide…….
BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU GROW!
A dormant seed in need
Of scorching sun
And drenching rains
Could be
Just
Another
Wild-strown weed.
